Richard C. Wasson

Richard C. Wasson, 73, of Somonauk, IL passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora. He was born July 24, 1938 in Chicago, IL the son of Joseph and Edna (Short) Wasson. He married Julie Harte on August 20, 2000 in Somonauk. He was a member of Somonauk Baptist Church. Richard was a Somonauk and Sandwich Fireman for over 50 years. He owned and operated Wasson Electric for 40 years and retired from At&t in 1990. Richard had served as a Sandwich Alderman and on the Special Police Task Force.

He was survived by his wife Julie of Somonauk; two daughters, Crystal Dollinger of Villa Park, Pamela (James) Banbury of Maple Park; one son, Michael Harte of Clemson, SC; six grandchildren, Berek Dollinger, Tristan (Alex) Dollinger, Duncan Dollinger, Jared Dollinger, Katie Banbury, and Lauren Banbury; one brother, John Wray (Joan) Wasson of Somonauk; one sister, Joni Knox of Sandwich and the Mother of his 2 daughters, Sylvia Littlefair of East Peoria.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, January 28, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday January 27, 2012 at the funeral home in Somonauk. Memorials may be directed to the family.
