Richard "Rick" Nelson

Richard “Rick” Nelson, 65, of Leland passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 2, 1948 in Sandwich the son of Axel and Emma (Heminover) Nelson. He married Terri Stover on April 12, 1968 in Mendota. He was a member of the Sandwich Moose.

He is survived by his wife, Terri of Leland, IL; one daughter, Karen (Tom) Smith of Yorkville, IL; one son, Bryan Nelson of Leland, IL; four grandchildren, Cassie, Adam, Matthew and Kaylee; two sisters, Pat Gates of Sandwich, IL and Rita (Wally) Alsip of Panama City, FL; two brothers, Chuck (Kay) Nelson of Leland, IL and Dave (Barb) Nelson of Leland, IL; Many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Chad C. Nelson, one grandson, Dakota and one sister, Marie Johnson.
