Richard A. Luxton, 64, of Sandwich, IL went home to meet his heavenly father on June 1, 2026. He was born on October 30, 1961 in Dekalb, IL to Richard R. Luxton and Beverly Harding. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior. He grew up in Malta, IL and graduated from Malta High School in 1979. Rick married the love of his life Lisa Kannmacher-Schnabel on May 6, 1995. Rick worked at his mom and dad’s supermarket for some years. He then became a security officer at Marionjoy for over 25 years. Rick was a very well-rounded individual. He loved his family with all his heart and always believed in trying his best and doing the right thing. His personality was a unique mix of seriousness, sarcasm, trickster, laughter and joy. He enjoyed our church group, camping, fishing, playing guitar, listening to all genres of music and just visiting with friends and extended family members. He was a life-long Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Vikings fan. He always loved traveling very long hours in the car, and some short trips to his children and grandchildren’s sports events. On occasion you could get him to sing karaoke, dance those dance moves while sometimes being goofy. He enjoyed his neighbors and helping if needed. You could always find him outside perfecting his glorious yard.

He is survived by his wife, Lisa; children, Jason (fiancé Erin) Schnabel, Jamison (Katie) Schnabel, Jennifer (Anthony) Trovato and Jordan (Paige) Luxton; seven grandchildren, Gavin and Dawson Hinckley, Romie Trovato, Kennedy Luxton, Cael, Haylee and Heidi Schnabel; one sister, Karen (Jeff) Rautio; brothers in law, Jon Kannmacher and Tracey (Tracy) Kannmacher; uncles, Jerry Harding and Craig Luxton and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; his mom and dad, Beverly and Richard Luxton; his in-laws, Jon and Crystal Kannmacher; two sisters in law, Jamie Kannmacher and Charlotte Kannmacher.

Family will hold a Celebration of Life at Harvest Chapel located at 725 S.
