Richard E. Bowron, 89, of Sandwich, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Valley West Hospital in Sandwich, IL, with his loving family by his side. He was born February 12, 1937, in Aurora, IL, the son of Richard and Dorothy (Jones) Bowron. He married the love of his life, Patricia Ann Glasser on August 31, 1957, in Batavia, IL. Dick was a devote member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Hinckley, IL. He proudly served in the IL National Guard for 1955-1964. Dick loved model trains and repairing typewriters. He was also a gunsmith and long time member of the NRA. As the family joke master, Dick loved to make everyone laugh with sarcasm being his love language. He is survived by his daughters, Elizabeth Gebe and Kathryn (Kent) Davis; his daughter-in-law, Pamela Bowron; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; his brother, Jack (Joanne) Bowron; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, Patricia, his son, David, and his great granddaughter, Sophia.
Services in Dick’s honor are pending. Memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association or Dementia Association. For more information or to sign the online guest book, go to www.EighnerFuneralHomes.com
