Richard C. “Apple” McInturf, 71, of Sandwich, IL passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving wife. He was born May 11, 1948 in Sandwich, IL the son of Richard and Irene (Beck) McInturf. He married Vanessa Anderson on August 26, 1992 at Union Congregational Church in Somonauk, IL. He was a member of Union Congregational Church of Somonauk, where he was on the trustee board. Rick retired from Parts at Interpertator Uptime Parts of West Chicago. He also worked at Chicago Truck Center and Coffman Truck. He was an avid reader and had the love for old cars and was a proud owner of 1965 GTO and a 1966 Chevy Pick-up. He loved his many friends and spending time at car shows with them. They enjoyed talking about old times and cars they owned.
He is survived by his wife, Vanessa of Sandwich, IL; his mother-in-law, Bev Anderson of Somonauk, IL; sisters-in-law, Valerie (Gary) Chase and Linda (Carl) Wilson; brother-in-law, Brad (Debbie) Anderson; many nieces, and nephews who he enjoyed spending family holiday’s with. Rick had many great friends and enjoyed the time he had with them. He especially enjoyed traveling to South Padre Island, TX to spend time with his with mother and father-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law Bob “Trigger” Anderson.
According to Richard’s wishes there will be no services. Cremation rites were entrusted to Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Union Congregational Church of Somonauk or to the charity of your choice.
