Reta M. Pepple

Reta M. Pepple, 86, of DeKalb formerly of Sandwich, IL passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 in Pine Acres Care Center in DeKalb surrounded by her family. She was born July 21, 1922 in Northville Township the daughter of Clarence and Myrtle (Ackley) Christopherson. She married Gilbert G. "Gib" Pepple on June 13, 1942 in Yorkville. She was a very hard working farm wife, had a great love of animals and enjoyed volunteering. She served as an election judge for Northville Township for many years. She was a member of Somonauk Baptist Church and the Jolly Sixties.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda (Alan) Austin of DeKalb; two sons, Leslie (Sharon) Pepple of Sugar Grove and Ray (Paula) Pepple of Lincoln, IL; eleven grandchildren, Sarah, Amy, Eric, Michelle, Joshua, Margaret, Emily, Derek, Jennifer, Ahbreonna and Joshua; several great grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin (Rose) Christopherson and Dewey (Lorraine) Christopherson and one sister-in-law and loving caregiver, Audra (Leo) Simmons of Shabbona and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gib; one sister, Carol Smith and one brother, Lewis Christopherson.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich with the Rev. Jim Harper officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Pine Acres Care Center in DeKalb.
