Phyllis E. Wykes, 92, of Plano passed away Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville. She was born June 9, 1921 in Seward Township, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Stewart) Jones. She married Albert Wykes on February 12, 1943. Phyllis was a member of Plano United Methodist Church, Kalico Kwilters, Kendall County Farm Bureau and the Mayflower Society. She was an avid baker, gardener and quilter, whose gracious hospitality was enjoyed by all who knew her.

She is survived by four children, Elaine (Mario) Espericueta of Laveen, AZ, John (Chris) Wykes of Plano, IL, Mary Vernau of Tyler, TX and Bill (Bonnie) Wykes of Plano, IL; twelve grandchildren, Maria (Luis) Ochoa, Jose (Rosie) Espericueta, Clay (Amy) Wykes, John Wykes, Joshua Wykes, Ben Wykes, Heather (Steve) Gray, Nathan Vernau, Noah Vernau, Laurel (Sean) Smith, Hillary Wykes and Megan (Nick) Nesson; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Doris Gabel of Oswego, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Albert, two sisters, Marian Tullock and Joyce Fezekas and one brother, Ellis Jones.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Plano United Methodist Church in Plano with Pastor Kent Svendsen officiating. Burial will follow in Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano.
