Philip Owen Harper, a beloved husband, devoted son, and cherished friend, departed this world on January 27, 2026, at his home in Somonauk, Illinois, with his loving wife, Patricia, by his side. Born on April 16, 1961, in Aurora, Illinois, Philip was the son of Edward Harper and Janice (Ostrander) Stuber, and he carried with him a spirit of warmth and joy that touched the lives of everyone around him.

Philip was a man of many talents, proudly known for his skills as a handy man, always working with his hands to bring life and light to every project he undertook. His infectious optimism echoed in his famous quotes, “Don’t be grumpy, be happy!” and “No negativity,” which served as a guiding light not only for himself but for all who were fortunate enough to know him.

His marriage to Patricia Kiley on November 27, 2002, in St. Pete's, Florida, marked a significant milestone in his life, as the two shared a bond filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Together, they embraced life’s adventures, whether it was riding his beloved Harley or cultivating a beautiful garden where vegetables thrived. Philip had aspirations of starting his very own greenhouse, dreaming of the vibrant plants he would nurture and cherish. He was also an excellent cook, often whipping up delicious meals that would bring family and friends together around the table.

Philip was a proud member of the Moose Lodge in Sandwich, Illinois, where he enjoyed the camaraderie and connections he built with his fellow lodge members. He held a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures and lived each day to the fullest, often inspiring others to do the same.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness, and he will be deeply missed by his adored wife, Patricia; his mother, Janice Stuber; three sisters, Deanna (Steve) Seiler, Beth Carlson, and Janel (Charles) Betsinger; his mother-in-law, Marjorie Kiley; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

Philip is preceded in death by his father, Edward Harper; brothers, Jeffrey, Steven, Timothy, and Jay; stepfather, Albert Stuber; father-in-law, Jerry Kiley; and sister-in-law, Susan Kiley. His loss is profound, but his spirit remains alive in the cherished memories we all hold dear.

A visitation will be held on January 30, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk. Afterward, a burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Park in Oswego, Illinois, at 2:15 PM. Memorials may be directed to the family.
