Paula M. Dimond, 87, of Sandwich passed away Monday, February 26, 2024, at Pavilion on Main in Sandwich. She was born November 17, 1936, in New Castle, IN, the daughter of Paul and Evelyne (Williams) Greer. She married the love of her life, William “Bill” Dimond on November 3, 1956, in Cambridge City, IN and they were inseparable until his passing in 2005. From the moment she met Bill, while working at his aunt and uncle’s restaurant, she knew he was the one. Paula was a dispatcher for the Plano Police Department and surrounding areas for 6 years and served as the City Clerk of Plano from 1974-1985. She and Bill loved their winters in AZ. Paula enjoyed drawing, knitting, was an avid reader, and the best cook/baker around. She was very involved with children, volunteering at the school to help 1st graders read and a Brownie Leader for her daughters. Most of all she adored her family, as they adored her.

She is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Charles) Southall and Suzette (Rudy) Malert; her brother, George (Linda) Greer and David (Bonnie) Widau; brother-in-law, Joel (Ann) Stonecipher; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, LaVerne and Marie Dimond, her husband, Bill, her son, Douglas in infancy, her brother, Mark Greer, and her sister, Pat Stonecipher.

Private Graveside Service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Open Door Rehab Center in Sandwich or the Plano Library. Paula’s family is so grateful for the support and wonderful care they all received from the staff at Pavilion on Main and Unity Hospice; she loved to share her humor with everyone and appreciated them joking with her.
