Paul “Jim” Rydell, 86, of Plano, IL passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 24, 1934 in Elgin, IL, the son of Carl & Margaret (Cliffe) Rydell. He married Charlene Marcks on June 21, 1958 at First Presbyterian Church in Harvard, IL. Jim and Charlene owned and operated the Dog & Suds in Sandwich for numerous years, he also worked as a realtor in the area for many years. Jim enjoyed rooting for the Green Bay Packers and the Chicago White Sox. Mostly he loved spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlene; two daughters, Linette (Bill) Cooper of Plano, IL and Corrine Rydell of Elburn, IL, one son, Ross (Sandy) Rydell of Batavia, IL; three grandchildren, Dean (Jen) Gottschalk, Madison and Aidan Rydell; three great grandchildren, Acacia, Montgomery and Hamilton Gottschalk.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Helen in infancy, and one brother Thomas C. Rydell.
