Paul W. Franciscy, 63, of Sandwich, IL passed away, Monday, April 9, 2007 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was born September 30, 1943 in Berwyn, IL, the son of Rudolph and Emilie (Houdek) Franciscy.
He was an iron worke for Local 393 in Aurora, IL, retiring after 30 years of service. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and Vietnam. He was a member of the Sportmen’s Club in Sandwich. He loved his grandchildren, enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his dog, Lady.
He is survived by one son, Rudy (Debbie) Franciscy of Sandwich, IL; one daughter, Marianne (Ahmed) Elgindy of North Aurora, IL; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Dawn Engstrom of Sandwich, IL and Emily Kromat of Wheaton, IL; one brother, Charles (Judy) Franciscy of Aurora, IL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rudolph Franciscy and George Franciscy and his longtime girlfriend, Mary Whitcomb.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Burkhart -Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL with Rev. Diane Merrill Pomeroy officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of services at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home. According to Paul‘s wishes, burial will be at Sea off the USS Enterprise.
