Patricia Sims

Patricia “Pat” Sims, 81, of Plano, IL, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2026, at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born May 22, 1945, in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Ronald and Hattie “Pat” (Limbruner) Peffer. Patricia married Jerry Sims on October 9, 1974, in Geneva, IL.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry; her children, Mark Olson and Marcie Sims; her grandchildren, Mark and Alyssa; her beloved great grandchildren, Rylee, Tianna, Jordan, TJ, and Mark; her brothers, Mike (Peggy) Peffer and Ronnie (Ginney) Peffer; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Hattie “Pat” and her brother, Greg.

Pat was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend who filled our lives with love, laughter, and more than a little bit of sass.

Over the years, Pat worked as an X-ray technician, hair stylist, and cake decorator. She was creative, hardworking, and always willing to help others. But the role she was most proud of was being a mom and caring for the people she loved.

Pat was full of life and found joy in so many things. She loved sunflowers and hummingbirds, the sound of ocean waves, warm sunshine on her face, flowers in bloom, and being near the water. She loved laughing with family and friends, sharing stories, and finding beauty in the little things around her.

More than anything, Pat loved her family. She had a kind heart, a strong spirit, and a way of making people feel welcome and cared for. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in all of us.

She will be missed every day and remembered in every sunflower, every hummingbird, every ocean breeze, and every moment that brings a smile to our faces.

We love you, Mom, and we will carry you with us always.
