Patricia Anne Henry Scull (age 84), beloved wife of the late Enoch “Nick” Scull, passed away on October 5, 2021, in Oregon, IL. She was born on March 29, 1937, to Paul and Elsie (Thompson) Henry in Hinsdale, IL.
She was a long-time resident of the Plano / Sandwich area. Patricia graduated from Riverside / Brookfield High School in 1955 and attended Northern Illinois University. She was a former U.S. Postal worker for over 20 years in Yorkville, IL. and worked for H&R Block during tax season. She was an avid golfer and bowler, in 2014 Patricia was honored at the Aurora Area Bowling “Hall of Fame” ceremony. As a child she attended Baptist churches and then later attended Methodist church after moving to Plano. She was a member of the Cedardell Golf Club in Plano and a former President of the Plano American Legion Auxiliary.
She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, crafts, computers, word searches and Norwegian rosemaling painting, winning numerous blue ribbons at the Sandwich Fair and Geneva Swedish Days for her artistry. She loved to decorate for the holidays especially Christmas and baking her Christmas cookies and making julekege. She also enjoyed hosting the family’s annual corn roast which her father started and lasted for 3 generations.
In July she celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary before her husbands’ passing.
Patricia is survived by her sons: Scott (Vicki) Scull of Oregon, IL. Steve (Ellie) Scull of Decatur, IL. Stepson Jeff Scull of Yorkville and stepdaughter, Wendy Hartzfeld of Plano. Two sisters: Peggy Martinez of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Sandy (Steve) Bauer of New Haven, Vermont. Grandchildren: Nikki (Marcos) Gonzalez, Tracee (Scott) Leitner, Summer (Josh) Beyer, Brandi (Wayne Data) Hartzfeld, Mindy (Tim) Hilliard, Kaelyn Scull, Kurt (Jeanice) Muth, Chris (Allysia) Muth, Paul (Heather) Scull, Jeremy (Diana) Scull, Joey Scull, Josh (Brandy) Scull, Jon (Whitney) Scull, Ashleigh (Tom) Russell. 27 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; one brother-in-law, Dewitt (Sonya) Shufelt of North Port, Florida. and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Paul Scull Sr., son-in-law Tom Hartzfeld, and sister Joanne Schufelt.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL. with Pastor Stevan Saunders officiating. Burial to follow at Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano, IL. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice and Home, Oregon, IL. or to Save the Windows at the Plano United Methodist Church.
