Patricia Ann Gast, 90, of Earlville, IL passed away Saturday, June 17, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving Family. She was born March 20, 1933 in Ottawa, IL the daughter of Russell and Vada (Cavanaugh) Gumm. She married Robert J. Gast on May 24, 1952 in Princeton, IL. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, a former Sunday School Teacher, served on the Altar Committee and was active in the Church Women’s Group.
Patricia loved to spend time in the kitchen, creating delicious home cooked meals for her family. Most of her free time was spent with her grandkids. You could also find her antiquing at local shops, auctions, garage sales, and shopping on QVC network. She loved to sew for her family. She enjoyed traveling with her family to some of her favorite places, including Florida, Arizona, and California. She absolutely loved animals, she had many cats, and dogs over the years that she cherished.
She is survived by her husband Robert; her children, Vicki Steward of Palmetto, FL, Kenneth (Pamela) Gast of Earlville, IL and Joyclyn (Richard) Jones of Earlville, IL; three grandchildren, Luke Jones, Corrine (Daniel) Clausel, and Rena (Nolan Baumbach) Jones; three great grandchildren, Sadie, Wyatt and Gracelynne; three sisters, Sharon Martin Castelli of Ottawa, IL, Phyllis Sandrolini of Queen Creek, AZ, and Carol Roberts of Burbank, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Beverly Newman, one grandson, Andrew Gast.
Private Funeral Services were held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, IL with Rev. Denise Rode officiating. Burial followed in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville, IL. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, IL, or to the Donor’s Choice.
