Otis Wayne Skaggs, 89, of Earlville, IL passed away, Thursday, February 5, 2015 in LaSalle Veteran’s Home in LaSalle, IL. ome in LaSalle, IL. HHe was born May 17, 1925 in Hodgenville, KY, the son of Jimmy "Turner" and Rosettie (Warren) Skaggs. He married Margaret L. Whitlock on July 3, 1946 in Jamestown, KY. Otis was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in WW II. He worked as a farm implement foreman for over 30 years at Avco New Idea in Sandwich, IL.
He is survived by his wife Margaret; one son, Terry Wayne (Sue) Skaggs and one daughter, Phyllis (Dave) Bickett both of Earlville, IL; four grandchildren, David (Beth) Mann of Metamora, IL, Joseph (Danielle) Bickett of Cullom, IL, Amy (Harry) Armstrong of Columbia, SC and Matthew (Jennifer) Skaggs of Mendota, IL; eleven great grandchildren; one sister, Estleen Wright of Campbellsville, KY, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Floyd, William, Robert and Leslie Skaggs, three sisters, Alice Sprowls, Eva Allen and Marie Thompson.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Hanley-Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Earlville, IL with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Burial will be 11:00 a.m, Monday, February 9, 2015 at Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville, IL. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, at the funeral home.
