Olive “Lee” Smith, 78, of Streator, IL passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria with her daughter by her side. She was born June 26, 1937 in Greensburg, MO the daughter of Harold and Lottie Imler Gillispie. She married Bill Smith on November 16, 1956. She enjoyed playing country music in several bands with her husband.
She is survived by one daughter Renita Gay Steve Donovan of Marseilles, IL, three granddaughters; Jana Marcus Spicer of Whitehouse, TN, Carrie Chad Cayce of Whitehouse, TN, Ashlie Brian Biles of Jackson, GA, seven great-grandson’s; Zachary, Austin, Lucas, Cayden, Caleb, Bradley and Hexum, two step-grandchildren; Travis Erica Donovan of Marseilles, IL, Shane Donovan of Ottawa, two step great-granddaughter’s; Katey and Taylor, one brother; Calvin Gillispie of Westmont, IL, one special niece Carol Edwards of Dwight, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bill of 56 years, her parents, one son William S. Smith and one granddaughter Tara L. Garrow, one sister Nancy Thomas and three brothers Floyd Gillispie, Darrel Gillispie and Dale Gillispie.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with the Pastor Derek Johnsen officiating. Burial will follow in Millington-Newark Cemetery in Millington, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL.
