Norman Kuhman, 81, of Sandwich, IL passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at his home. He was born November 30, 1937 in Albion, IL, the son of Fredrick and Eileen (Briggs) Kuhman. He married Eleanor “Ellie” M. (nee Bird) Gentile on October 21, 2000 in Batavia, IL. He was a proud member of the US Army. Norm was active in many professional and business organizations as well as several ministries in his church. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to many careers in his lifetime, including being an executive in the Boy Scouts of America, owner and publisher of The Illiana Shopper and other publications, legal advocate for farmers, real estate agent, and owner and operator of Q-Man Services.
He is survived by his wife, Ellie Gentile of Sandwich, IL; his children, Tammy (Danny) Minter of Fruita, CO, Ronald Kuhman of Phoenix, AZ, Noell (Jim) Quine of Stowe, VT, and Matthew Aaron Kuhman of Phoenix, AZ; his step daughter, Mary (Jason) Wood of DeKalb, IL; numerous grandchildren; his brother Forest (Carole) Kuhman of Kent, WA; twin sisters, Mary (Steve) Kapernekas of Plano, IL and Rosie (Don) Burton of Sheridan, IL; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Eugene “Butch” Kuhman.
Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Yorkville Congregational United Church of Christ in Yorkville, IL, with Pastor Mark Gregory officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the church in Yorkville.
