Nancy J Seville of Vernon passed away Monday, June 15. She was born February 20, 1941, in Ottawa, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil and Helen (Clements) Miller. She graduated from Leland High School where she met the love of her life Gary Seville. They married on March 12, 1960.
A farmer’s wife, Nancy worked in the school cafeteria, was proprietor of Seville Hardware, and worked at Kleen-Lay Manufacturing in the Leland, Illinois area.
In 1983, Nancy and Gary pulled up roots and joined a wheat harvest out of Vernon, Texas. From Texas, almost all the way to the Canadian border, she cooked meals for the work crews. She and Gary enjoyed the people of Vernon so much that after the harvest, they decided to stay.
Over the years, Nancy worked a variety of jobs, ultimately retiring from the State Hospital to take care of Gary in his final years. Always up for adventure, her memorable travel excursions include a Tiger Safari in India and riding the entirety of Route 66 on a Harley Davidson Trike to celebrate her 80th birthday.
She volunteered at the Wilbarger General Hospital Auxiliary in the gift shop where she enjoyed visiting with folks coming in and out of the hospital. She also enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her son, Del Seville and his wife Kim of Sheridan, Wyoming, daughter Meg Seville and her wife Maria Risaliti of Austin, Texas, two grandsons, Jesse Seville of Vernon, Texas and Matthew Seville of Shelby, Iowa, four great-grandchildren, Adeline Seville of Aledo, Texas, Hudson Seville and Evelyn Seville of Vernon, Texas and Donald Seville of Shelby, Iowa, one sister-in-law, Mary Alice Seville of Corvallis, Oregon and several nieces and nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Cecil and Helen, her husband Gary Seville, her sister Betty Shumway; and brother Robert Miller.
