Nancy C. Mitchell, 83, of Earlville, IL passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at the Ottawa Pavilion in Ottawa, IL. She was born June 9, 1932 in Fayetteville, AR the daughter of John B. and Nancy G. Bingham Woods. She married Melvin W. Mitchell on September 22, 1951 in Crown Point, IN. They had 61 wonderful years together. Nancy was a member of Earlville United Presbyterian Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. She worked at CTS Knights for 31 years retiring in 1994. She enjoyed being a farmer’s wife, a homemaker, but most of all spending time with her family and winters in Florida.
She is survived by her three children, Jane Pat Russell of Earlville, IL, Susan Tom Jensvold of Bradenton, FL and William Casandra Mitchell of Earlville, IL; eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren; one sister Jane Woods Touchton of Palmetto, FL; one sister-in-law Berniece Harris of Homewood, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Melvin in 2012, one brother Walter Woods, one sister-in-law Kathy Woods, one brother-in-law Robert Harris and one great granddaughter Maci Jo Russell.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015 at Earlville United Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Burial of her urn will follow in Precinct Cemetery rural Earlville. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m., Saturday, November 28, 2015 in the church until the service at 11:00.
