Nancy L. Foster, 88, Formerly of Yorkville, IL, passed away Monday, November 17, 2025, at Bardwell Residence in Aurora, IL. She was born July 27, 1937, at home in Shannon County, MO, the daughter of Elmer and Mildred Helling. She married her high school sweetheart, Dean Foster on October 22, 1955, in Shabbona, IL. Nancy was a founding member of the Plano Fellowship.
If you had the privilege to know Nancy (Mom, Grandma, Aunt Nancy), then you witnessed a person who was a living reflection of Christ’s love in her everyday life. Her love for her Lord and Savior was her driving force. She worked alongside her husband Dean farming at the Fox Road corner in Yorkville for many years. Their place was known for the giant lighted cross they put up between Christmas and Easter. After retiring from farming they began working a ServiceMaster business in Yorkville. She not only restored people's disasters, she offered emotional support, care and prayer endearing her to her customers. She was always finding ways to help others, whether it be someone she knew or a stranger in need, and never expected anything in return. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin that anyone could ask for, and her warm hugs were truly medicine to the soul. Her beautiful family is her legacy and bringing them together for Sunday dinner or holidays was something she always cherished, and her delicious home cooking never disappointed. Her home was a gathering place, where love and laughter rang out. It was always full of family stories, and kids running around everywhere, and she wouldn’t have had it any other way. When she wasn’t finding ways to spoil her grandkids, you could probably find her reading her bible, journaling, capturing precious memories with photos, tending to her flower gardens or taking a brisk walk. She was a wonderful woman and there could never be enough words to fully define who she was to us. She was an inspiration to so many, and a beautiful example of what a Child of God looks like. She will be deeply missed, but there is no doubt that she was more than ready to meet her Jesus face to face and reunite with the ones who went on before her.
She is survived by her children, Glenn (Linda) Foster of Yellville, AR, Julie (Bob) Diveley of Earlville, IL, Sue (Hans) Genrich of West Chicago, IL, Floyd (Jamie) Foster of Spring Hill, KS, and Mike (Anita) Foster of Plano, IL; 16 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; as well as 2 dear sister, Betty Treadway and Josphine Bolander.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and 3 siblings.
