N. Michael Turner, 49, of Aurora, IL passed away, Monday, January 3, 2011 at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 1, 1961 in Waukegan, IL, the son of Charles E. and Naomi M. Wortham Turner. He was a graduate of Illinois State University receiving his B.S. degree in communications. He was a co-owner of Carpetile Company in Plano, an Economic Consultant for the City of Aurora and previously for the City of Elgin. He was a founder and actively involved on the Board of Director for Kendall County CASA for several years. He played soccer in high school and college as well as couching youth soccer in the Aurora area. He was a former Alumni of the Year for Waubonsee Community College. Mike enjoyed spending time with Chelsea, Alex, Lisa, and his dog, Lucy. He was an avid White Sox fan and sailor. In the summer of 2010, he took first place sailing in the Leukemia Cup on Lake Michigan. Mike loved life, laughter and relaxing on his boat with family and friends.
