Miriam Elaine Orr, 92, of Underhill, VT formerly of Plano, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Ron and Linda Turner’s home in Underhill, Vermont. She was born August 26, 1925, the daughter of Hugh Kennedy and Helen Jean Nette (Austin) Pope. Miriam grew up on the family farm on Fox Road, in Yorkville, Illinois, enjoying every bit of living in the country and the farm adjacent to the Fox River. Miriam attended the University of Illinois at the Champaign-Urbana campus. She married David Donald Orr on February 14, 1947 in Yorkville, IL.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Ron) Turner of Underhill, VT and Mary (Bob) Antich of Somonauk, IL; nine grandchildren: Jason Antich of Somonauk, IL, Jamie (Kelli) Antich of Sheridan, IL Jon (Nikki) Antich of Woodridge, IL, Andrea Leppert of Boston, MA, Drew (Michelle) Turner of Underhill, VT, Mandi (Kevin) Wilson of Leland, IL, Angela Orr of Oswego, IL, Matthew Orr and Micah Orr; and eleven great-grandchildren: Blake, Caleb, and Logan Wilson; Katelynne and Kamryn Leppert; Lillian and Evelyn Turner; Jaxon Antich; Brinley, Kaisley and Jameson Antich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, two sons, Alan and Philip Orr, two brothers, Charles Pope and Austin (Grace) Pope of Harvard, IL, and a sister Mary Ada (Walter) Parks of Anna, IL
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.to 7:00 pm, at the Turner Funeral Home in Plano, on Friday, April 20th with a funeral directly following visitation at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening.
