Merle F. Duffy, 95, of Earlville, Illinois passed away, Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Heritage Manor in Mendota, IL. He was born July 21, 1913 in Serena, IL, the son of Charles R. and Effie McInturf Duffy. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII.
He married Ruth Terry and later married Nellie Grandgeorge Stockley on August 8, 1981 in Ottawa, IL. He was employed by Dupont in Seneca retiring in 1975. He was a graduate of IVCC and was an electrician. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Earlville and Earlville Lions Club.
He is survived by one step daughter, Carol (Jack) Landers of Earlville; two step sons, Don (Robyn) Stockley of Murray, UT and Gary (Rose) Stockley of Earlville; 14 step grandchildren; nineteen step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both wives, Ruth and Nellie, his parents, three brothers Gerald, Charles "Bud" and Gordon Duffy; three sisters, Clarice Johnson, Marjorie Battles and Marilyn Bernard and one step son, David Stockley; one step daughter, Ethel Stockley Rhea and one step grandson, Jeremy Stockley.
