Maxine C. Risk, 96, of Sandwich, IL passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. She was born October 25, 1921 in Wichita, KS the daughter of Charles and Sidonia Regina (Weber) Green. She married Ellery C. Risk on May 2, 1942 in Seneca, IL. Maxine was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Seneca, IL, where she attended and graduated from high school. She worked at Valley West Hospital, serving food to patients, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Most of all Maxine loved time spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Roland (Karen) Risk of Sheridan, IL; two grandchildren, Troy Risk of Belvidere, IL and Tiffani Risk-Ott of Sheridan, IL; two great grandchildren, Kylie Risk of Rockford, IL and Zander Ott of Sheridan, IL; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ellery, one brother, Emmett Green and one sister in infancy.
Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 176 West Union St. Seneca, IL with Father Ghislain Inai officiating. Burial will follow at Elerding Cemetery in Sheridan, IL. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., Saturday in the church until the mass at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to Pet Project.
