Mavis B. Riedelsperger, 86, of Hinckley, IL passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her home. She was born May 19, 1925 in Sandwich, IL, the daughter of Emmer and Clara (Johnson) Vermeland. She married Ervin Riedelsperger on January 19, 1947 in Sandwich, IL. Mavis was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hinckley. She enjoyed birds, flowers, vegetable gardening and her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mavis is survived by her daughter, Jean Laskey of Cincinnati, OH; one son, Donald (Renee) Riedelsperger of Sandwich, IL; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one brother, Ron (Rosalie) Vermeland of Independence, MO.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Gerald Riedelsperger and three brothers, Emmer, Lavern and Duane Vermeland.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hinckley with Rev. Dave Marquardt officiating. Burial will follow at East Pierce Cemetery in Maple Park, IL. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 on Tuesday at the church.
