Mavis G. Morphey, 82, of Plano passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at Hillside Rehabilitation and Care Center in Yorkville. She was born May 12, 1926 in Lawrence County, IL, the daughter of Willard Eugene and Mary Marguerite (Gordon) Burbank. She retired from Lucent Technologies in Montgomery, IL in 1990. She was member of First Lutheran Church in Plano where she was very active. She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, and counted cross stitch, which she entered in the Sandwich Fair and won 1st place many times. Her greatest love of all was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one son, Doug "Mort" (Tabby) Morphey of Sandwich; three grandchildren, Lynn (Rob) Krejci of Dutton, AL, Patty (Wendell) Rupp of Sandwich and Tanya (Donald) Kimmey of Sandwich; six great grandchildren, Jacklyn, Matthew and Robert "RJ" Krejci, Douglas "DJ" Watkins, Samantha and Joshua Rupp; two brothers, Oliver "Buck" (Doris) Burbank of Sandwich and Harry Burbank on Linton, IN; one sister, Emma "Clem" (Alvin) Johnson of Albuquerque, NM and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Roy Burbank; two sisters, Mary Bob "Bobbie" Lindke and Dovey Ann Zielinski and one great grandson, Michael Krejci.
