Maureen M. Shumway

Maureen M. Shumway, 63, of Leland, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 30, 1958 in Berwyn, IL. She married Dan Shumway on June 29, 1985 in Leland, IL. She was a member of the Leland United Methodist Church in Leland, IL. She taught at Leland Grade School and Later at Dummer School in Sandwich, IL. She enjoyed the outdoors, swimming, reading and gardening. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, Dan, her mother Marge Riley of WI; One son Matthew Shumway of Leland, IL, one daughter, Kelly (Jim Miller) Shumway of Sandwich, IL, one granddaughter Charlotte; two sisters, Kathleen (Terry) Reynolds of WI, and Ilene (Steve) Tindall of GA, and several nieces and nephews.

According to Maureen’s wishes there will be no visitation or services. Cremation was entrusted to Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL.
