Mary S. Pfaff, 91, of Yorkville, IL, formerly of Sandwich, IL passed away Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Hillside Rehabilitation and Care Center in Yorkville. She was born May 30, 1925 in Bradley, IL the daughter of Peter and Katherine Kauk Duhai. She married Earl Pfaff on April 10, 1948 in Lemont, IL. Mary enjoyed reading, crocheting, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Dennis Ashley of Yorkville, IL and JoAnn Dave Houghtaylen of Somonauk, IL, three grandchildren, Todd Ashley, and Lisa Ashley both of Yorkville, IL and Matt Houghtaylen of Chicago, IL, four sisters, Katherine Pantke of Tucson, AZ, Ann Calaway of Grand Marsh, WI, Laura Calaway of Peoria, IL and Josie Paul Strong of Yorkville, IL, three sisters-in-law, Norma Duhai of Naperville, IL, Pat Duhai of Monroe, WI and Judy Duhai of Westmont, IL, one brother-in-law, Herbert Jackson of Naperville, IL and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, two sisters, Ella Boldt and Johanna Jackson, three brothers, John, Henry “Bud” and Robert Duhai.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 At Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL. Burial will follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery Sandwich, IL.
