Mary Ellen Huss

Mary Ellen Huss, 84, of Somonauk, Illinois passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012 in Valley West Community Hospital, Sandwich, IL, surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 22, 1928 in DeKalb, IL the daughter of Paul and Mary (Schnorr) Michael. She married Charles L. Huss on June 24, 1950 in Somonauk, IL. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL, American Legion Auxiliary, and Church Women United. Mary Ellen enjoyed playing the organ at her church for over 50 years, she also played at Serena and Harding United Methodist Churches and for numerous weddings and funeral services.

She is survived by three daughters: Wendy Larson of Somonauk, IL, Tina DeVan of DeLand, FL and Patricia (Rick Segvich) Hoffman of Somonauk, IL; three sons: Robert C. (Jan Weber) Huss of Somonauk, IL, Michael (Juanita) Huss of Sandwich, IL, and Tim (Sue) Huss of Somonauk, IL; 18 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; one brother-in-law: Armand Dannewitz of Somonauk.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles in 2004, her daughter: Teresa Franklin; one grandchild: Brent Huss; one sister: Joan Dannewitz.

Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL with Father Thomas Brantman officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery rural Somonauk, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 29, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL, with a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.
