Mary L. "Marie" Hughes, 88, of Earlville, passed away, Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Heritage Manor in Mendota, IL. She was born April 15, 1921 in Ottawa, IL, the daughter of John M. and Lauretta Sullivan Fennessey. She married Thomas V. Hughes on February 22, 1949 in Ottawa, IL. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Earlville. She worked as Office Manager at Marathon Electric in Earlville and Production Credit Office in Ottawa prior to her marriage to Tom. She loved all animals, especially dogs. Marie loved people and was compassionate to their needs.
She is survived by one sister, Kathryn Bollinger of Monroe, LA and five nieces. Mary (Tony) Morgan, Colleen Fennessey and Judy (Richard) Myers all of Ottawa, IL, Sharon (Dan) Ross of Monroe, LA and Nancy (Harold) Lacy of Golden, CO; and one nephew, Michael (Pam) Bollinger of Kansas City, KS.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother, Joseph Fennessey, and one son in infancy.
