Mary Emma Hayes, 82, of Sandwich, formerly of Somonauk, IL passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich. She was born May 4, 1925 in Somonauk, IL, the daughter of Frederick J. and Myrtle LaBolle Huss. She married Thomas A. Hayes on November 24, 1951 in Somonauk, IL.
She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Sandwich. She farmed with her husband, Tom until 1955. Mary Emma was formerly employed by CTS Knights, James Jewelers, and Connie's Hallmark all in Sandwich and was a retired Avon Lady. She was a resident of Sandwich Manor for the last five years. She loved her pomeranian dogs and leaves behind Arthur. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt.
She is survived by one daughter, Denise (Steve) Krafft of Leland, three sons, David (Diana) Hayes of Hinckley, Frederick (Nancy) Hayes of Leland, Daryl (Betty) Hayes of Oakbrook Terrace, nine grandchildren, Stephen (Jodee), Jennifer and Bradley Krafft, Jessica (Joseph) Mobley and Nicole Hayes, Conor Hayes, Meghan, Mollie, and Thomas Hayes, three great grandchildren, Gracelyn, Emma, and Logan, one sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Huss of Somonauk, one brother-in-law, William Lamb of Henderson, NV and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1984, and one brother, Charles Huss.
