Mary Lou Grandgeorge, 85, of Somonauk, IL passed away Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Sycamore, IL. She was born March 27, 1927 in Somonauk to Lester and Bernice (Wallis) Menk. She married Earl “Jake” Grandgeorge on June 19, 1948 in Somonauk, IL. She was a member of Union Congregational Church in Somonauk, Sunshine Band and Duplicate Bridge League. Mary Lou had a fond love of music, sharing it with family and friends.
She is survived by one son; Jeffrey (Julie) Grandgeorge of Somonauk, two grandchildren; Ryan (Fiancée Megan Hirner) and Sarah Grandgeorge, 2 sisters; Jean (Don) Riveland of Sheridan, Margaret Bastian of Farwell, MI; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1988, her daughter Lynn in 1970, one sister Gladys and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home, in Somonauk, IL with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.at the funeral home. Memorial may be made to Union Congregational Church of Somonauk.
