Martha Rainford, 74, of Plano passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her home. She was born July 27, 1937 in Lithuania, the daughter of John and Ursula (Oswald) Schleffendorf. She married Robert Rainford on February 21, 1970 in Frankfort, IL. She was a member of the Plano Fellowship Church. Martha enjoyed traveling, baking, cooking, and sharing her treats with all. Martha’s proudest memory was coming to America after WWII and her freedom which she cherished.
She is survived by two sons, Walter (Jennifer) Rainford of Hinckley; Robert Rainford of Rochelle; one daughter-in-law, Sherry Rainford of Sandwich; seven grandchildren; Cousins, Natalie, Emma and families; special friends, Marlena and Steve Garrison and family of Plano; Fellowship family and many loving friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, William Rainford and three brothers, George, Henry and Frank Schleffendorf.
Memorial services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 27, 2012 at Millington United Methodist Church in Millington with Pastor Kirk C. Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Millington Newark Cemetery in Millington. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at the Church. Memorials may be directed to Frontline Ministries.
