Marie Kermeen, 88, of Plano, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on February 7, 1938, in Buda, Illinois, Marie lived a life centered around the people she loved most. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, knitting, painting, baking, making cards, and just about any craft she could get her hands on. She never passed up the chance to browse an antique shop or a garage sale, always hoping to find one more hidden treasure.

Marie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Plano beginning in the 1960s. Her faith was reflected in her kindness, thoughtfulness, and the genuine love she showed to the people around her. She had a kind heart, a strong spirit, and a spark that made her uniquely Marie.

Marie shared a remarkable love story with her beloved husband, Ronald "Pipe" Kermeen. Together they built a beautiful life rooted in family and unwavering devotion. They would have celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this November, a testament to their enduring love, commitment, and partnership.

She retired from Plano Molding after over 30 years, where she was a dedicated employee before enjoying a well-earned retirement.

Above all, Marie treasured her family. One of her greatest joys was watching her family grow through the generations. She was blessed to meet each of her three great-grandchildren, and those moments brought her immeasurable happiness.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald "Pipe" Kermeen; her son, Marty (Debbie) Kermeen; her granddaughters, Brittany (Alex) Harrer and Chloe (Nick) Muellner; her cherished great-grandchildren, Lilly, Mackson, and Weston; and her siblings, Doris Neahring, Howard Behrens, and Harold Behrens.

Though she will be deeply missed, Marie's legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the many handmade gifts that continue to remind those who loved her of her warmth and generosity.
