Marlene "Marlana" Lynn Reynolds

June 19, 1946 — March 21, 2015

Marlene “Marlana” Lynn Reynolds (nee Thie) of Lake Holiday, Somonauk, IL passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from complications of MDS (myelodysplastic syndrome), a rare bone marrow disease. She was born on June 19, 1946 in Burlington, IA, the daughter of Samuel Charles and Phyllis Ethel Madden Thie. Marlene graduated from Mediapolis Community High School in 1964 and AIC in Davenport, IA in 1965 with an Advanced Secretarial Certificate. She worked for over a 30-year period for IRC/TRW, B L Robinson & Co and Caterpillar Tractor Co in Burlington, IA; and as a buyer at CTS Electronics in Sandwich, IL. She married and divorced Dean Reynolds and Dennis Russell. Marlene enjoyed collecting, decorating (including dollhouses), gardening, reading, and knitting. Mostly she enjoyed the early years of family dinners, her sons’ Scouting and sports events. She loved traveling and visiting family. Marlene’s greatest love was her family.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Barry Lingle; her beloved sons, Lonnie Dean (Jennifer) Reynolds of Brinnon, WA and Kevin Deran Reynolds of Port Orange, FL; her dear step-sons, Brad and Chris Lingle; her cherished grandsons, Nick, Kodi, Christian and Olin Reynolds; step-grandson, Eli Harrison; step-granddaughters, Faith, Savanna and Audrey Lingle; she leaves her adored brother, Bernard (Marcia) Thie of Mediapolis, IA; niece, Marissa Thie Reed; nephews, Ben and Matt Thie and their families; as well as her treasured step-sisters, Linda Dotson and Jeanie Kazubski and families; her special cousin, Wayne Sanders and family; an uncle and many cousins. Marlene leaves her friends, including Lynn Yohe Kopatich, friends for over six decades. She loved her rescued cat family; they too will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her much-admired father in 2014, beloved mother in 2011, special aunt in 2014, daughter-in-law, Lisa in 2000, grandparents and cousins.

In accordance with Marlene’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation rites where accorded to Turner-Eighner Funeral Home.
