Marjorie Rose Turner, 85, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2025 with family by her side. Born on January 12, 1940, in Jones County, lowa, to Henry Tjaden and Hulda Butschi, Marjorie grew up surrounded by the values of hard work, love, and family.
After moving to California as a young woman, Marjorie met the love of her life, Jerry G. Turner. Married February 16, 1963. The two shared a deep bond, traveling and building a life together before eventually settling in Illinois. Jerry preceded her in death, but their love remained a constant in her life.
Marjorie was a loving mother to two daughters, Pamela (Ed) Carey and Angela (Mike) Konicek, and a proud grandmother to Rachel (Justin) Fox, Joseph Carey, Alicia Hendron, and Grace Carey. She was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Jerry Fox, who brought her immense joy.
She is also survived by her loving siblings: MaryAnn (Dean) Hanna, Delores (Dave) Tschantz, Nancy (Harry) Tenney, and Mike (Kelly) Tjaden.
She was preceded in death by her brother Vernon (Arlene) Tjaden.
Marjorie worked as a key punch operator until retirement, after which she and Jerry became the proud owners of Turner's Tap in Walnut, Illinois - a local spot that reflected their warmth and community spirit.
Marjorie loved nothing more than time spent with family and friends. She cherished sister trips, time with grandchildren, and especially reminiscing about the long Sunday drives she and Jerry used to take. Even in her final days, those memories brought her comfort and joy.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and joy that will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Private Service will be held in her honor.
