Marjorie Ione Meyer, of Somonauk, Illinois passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville, Illinois. She was born January 19, 1933 in Winfield, Kansas the daughter of Charles Robert and Mary Olive Lauppe Moore. She married her first husband Thomas Clason on August 7, 1954 then later went on to marry Richard Meyer on July 3, 1971 in Somonauk, Illinois. She was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in Sandwich. She worked for the Somonauk School District for over 30 years. Marjorie loved to travel, play solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, and attending family reunions. Her greatest love of all was the time she spent with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; two sons, Brian (Debra) Clason of Plano, Il, and Randy (Amy) Clason of Plainfield, IN; two daughters, Patricia (James) Speake of Ninety Six, SC, and Lisa (Evert) Vandermeer of Somonauk, IL; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Thomas Clason on August 10, 1966; one daughter in infancy, Karen Jean Clason.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at Salem Lutheran in Sandwich, IL with Pastor Steve Mindrup officiating. Burial will at Oakridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL.
