Marjorie Jean Kunkel

Marjorie Jean (Sampson-Lage) Kunkel, 89 of Yorkville passed away Friday, October 10, 2014 at Seasons Hospice in Naperville. She was born August 31, 1925 in Aurora the daughter of Edward and Ethel (Albright) Sampson. She married Donald Arthur Lage on December 31, 1943 in Aurora. After his passing, she married Ivan Eugene Kunkel on September 10, 1983 in Montgomery. Marjorie was a past member of the United Methodist Church in Montgomery. She enjoyed going ballroom dancing with Gene and spending the winters in their Texas home. After her retirement, Marjorie loved making arts and crafts and selling her creations. Most of all she loved her family.

She is survived by four sons, Arthur Lage (Susan) of MA, Gary Lage of IL, Neal (Sheila) Lage of IL and Craig (Teresa) Lage of IL; five grandchildren, Christopher (Jen) Lage of ME, Earlene Angell (Bob) of IA, Courtney Lage of IL, Donald (Deanna) Lage of IL, Aaron (Kristin) Lage of IL; eleven great grandchildren, Stephanie, Cedar, Rowan, Ashley, Jacob, Kendall, Brandon, Melissa, Jackson, Caden and Zachary; one great great grandson, Cash; one sister, Jacqueline Thayer of AZ; three step children, David and Martin Kunkel and Paula Byerly; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Donald and Gene, one grandson, Justin, one daughter-in-law, Michelle, two sisters, Lucille and Betty.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Church of the Good Shepherd at 5 W. Washington St. in Oswego with Pastor Phil Sheets officiating. Internment private at a later date. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the church.
