Marion Brue, 76, of Yorkville, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Valley West Community Hospital in Sandwich, IL. He was born April 10, 1935 in Norway, the son of Ole and Anna (Olson) Brue. He married Sharon Stambaugh on November 28, 1957 in Plano, IL. He was a member of the Illinois Farm Bureau and the Sandwich Moose Lodge. Marion farmed all of his life – with 33 of those years being at Rock Creek Farm in Plano. He loved being a “Winter Texan” with family and friends visiting often. One of his greatest passions was celebrating life alongside his family, friends and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon of Yorkville, IL; one son, Terald Brue of Naperville, IL; two daughters, Tirza Brue of Chicago, IL, Cherrie (Darin) Severson of Yorkville, IL; four grandchildren, Cassie Brue, Elizabeth Brue, Kiya Severson, Cade Severson; two sisters, Carol (Larry) Baker of Batavia, IL, Thelma (Richard) Thorson of Ottawa, IL; one brother, Gordon Brue of Ottawa, IL; one sister-in-law, Bernice Brue of Ottawa, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Irene Thorson, Marvel Hatteberg; three brothers, Orville, Conrad and Reuben Brue.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at First Lutheran Church in Plano, IL with Pastor Bruce Booher officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Burkhart-Eighner Funeral Home in Sandwich, IL. Memorials may be directed to First Lutheran Church, St. John’s Lutheran Church of Somonauk or the Open Door of Sandwich, IL.
