Marilyn K. Sanford

Marilyn K. Sanford, 82, of Earlville, Illinois passed away Sunday, August 6, 2023 in OSF ST. Paul Medical Center in Mendota, IL surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 10, 1941 in Sandwich, IL the daughter of Everett and Lucille (Hawbaker) Hatland. She married Christian “Chris” Sanford on September 10, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, IL. Marilyn was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, IL, where she was very active serving on the Altar Committee, and a Sunday School teacher. She worked at Tri-County Veterinary Clinic for over fifty years, working for Dr. Wayne Brown and Dr. Kevin Zollars. Marilyn loved cooking for her family, flowers, animals, and was a terrific farmer’s wife. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and attending all their activities.

She is survived by her husband Chris; three sons, Bryan (Melissa) Sanford of Earlville, IL, Barry (Amy) Sanford of Waterman, IL and Matthew (Amy) Sanford of Ashton, IL; five grandchildren, Marissa, Garrett, Kendall, Preston, and Geena; two sisters, Carole (Steve) Maple of Ladera Ranch, CA, and Charlene “Charles” Russell of Louisville, KY, and one brother, Richard (Sue) Hatland of Sandwich, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, August 11, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church 415 South East Street Earlville, IL 60518. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2023 in the church, with Pastor Denise Rode officiating. Burial will follow in Wyoming Cemetery in Paw Paw, IL.
