Marilyn E. Long Grabowicz, 86, of Sandwich passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 at her residence. She was born June 7, 1925 in Aurora, IL the daughter of John J. and Rose M. (Thiesen) Leon. She married Gerald E. Long on January 3, 1948 and later married Stanley D. Grabowicz on October 25, 1979. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL and a former member of St. Rita of Cascia Parish in Aurora, IL.
She is survived by four daughters: Barbara A. (William L.) Hess of Oswego, IL, Mary Beth (Ralph E.) Follin of Phoenix, AZ, Karen J. (Wayne A.) Stevens of Aurora, IL, Ellen M. (John F.) Miller of Rochelle, IL; one son: Brian J. Long of Aurora, IL; ten grandchildren: Deedee Hess, Stephanie (Hess) Wayne, David Hess, Amanda Hess, Christina Hess, Michelle Follin, Christopher Follin, Jackie Stevens, Erin Miller, Morgan Miller; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two husbands.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL with Father Donald D. DeSalvo officiating. Private burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Aurora, IL. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the funeral home.
