Marilyn Kay Elliott

Marilyn Kay (Larson) Elliott, 85, of Sandwich, IL, formerly of Leland, IL, passed away Friday, August 2, 2024, at The Pavilion on Main Street in Sandwich, IL. She was born September 23, 1938, in DeKalb, IL, the daughter of Floyd and Lois (Baker) Larson. She married James Elliott on November 14, 1959, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, IL and spent the next 63 years together. Marilyn was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Leland, IL, where she was a former Sunday School teacher, and she was also a past member of the Leland Junior Women’s Club. Over the years, Marilyn worked as a secretary at NIU, Leland Schools, Baker Feeds, and was very proud to have worked for TWA at Midway, where she got to see some very interesting things. In her free time, Marilyn enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, knitting, sewing, and cheering on her Cubbies. Jim and Marilyn enjoyed hosting friends and had great gatherings at their home. Most of all, Marilyn loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Bernard of Somonauk, IL; her son, Craig (Cori) Elliott of Somonauk, IL; her grandchildren, Dan (Kellie) Bernard, Megan Bernard, Zach (Megan) McQuate, Alex (Tommy Cashman) McQuate, Rylee and Eva Elliott; her siblings, Karen Larson of Sandwich, IL and Paul (Susan) Larson of Sycamore, IL; her brother-in-law, Leo (Patt) Elliott of Sycamore, IL; her niece and nephews, Gretchen (Joel) Batorson, Kevin (Veronica) Larson and Andrew (Misty) Larson; as well as many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son, Terry Elliott, her son-in-law, Dan Bernard, her In-laws, Bill and Ruth Elliott, and her sister, Joyce Larson.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at the funeral home in Somonauk, with Pastor Stevan Saunders Officating. Burial will follow at Leland Cemetery in Leland, IL. Memorials may be directed to Bethany Lutheran Church, Fox Valley Community Services, Open Door, or a charity of your choice.
