Marilyn E. Caquelin, 72, of Somonauk, IL passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Leland, IL after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 18, 1948 in Moorhead, MN the daughter of Gordon and Violet Rose (Marlow) Herman. She married Frank Mylan in 1970. She later married Leon W. Caquelin on May 3, 2000. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Somonauk, IL. Prior to retirement Marilyn was a Supervisor of the ladies’ locker room at Aurora Country Club for over 20 years. She enjoyed working outside with her flowers. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and her dog, Nina.
She is survived by her husband, Leon; two daughters, Theresa (Kenneth Jones) Mylan, Kimberly (Jay) Sira of Leland; three grandchildren, Hailey, Junior, and Tashon; two sisters, Lois Blair and Shirley (Rick) Rankin; one brother, Gordon (Linda) Herman; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Violet Herman; and one sister, Barb Davis.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL with Reverend Kevin Butler officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at the Funeral Home in Somonauk, IL. Burial will be held at a later date.
