Marilyn M. Botts, 84, of Earlville, IL passed away, Friday, April 19, 2013 in Mendota Community Hospital, Mendota, IL. She was born May 27, 1928 in rural Earlville on the family farm, the daughter of Clarence and Rena Knoll Gast. She married Charles E. Botts Jr. on January 10, 1948 in Earlville, IL. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Earlville, and the Women's Auxiliary of Mendota VFW post #4079. Marilyn attended Earlville Schools graduating in 1947. She enjoyed sewing and sewed for the veterans and received awards for her sewing. She was a very hard worker, helping her husband on the farm, working in the garden, and taking care of their home and family. Most important was spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, Charles, two daughters, Wanda (Carl) Planthaber of Camanche, IA, Diane (Gary) Lampe of LaMoille, IL, and one son Steven Botts of Earlville, IL, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, two brothers, LaVerne Gast and Robert (Pat) Gast both of Earlville, one sister, Phyllis (Stan) Nash of Naperville, IL, one brother in law Rod Kellogg of CA, and several nieces, nephews, and her loving companion Dora.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Lois Gast and Elaine Kellogg.
