Margie Jessie Schumaker, 93, of Plano, Illinois passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, November 25, 2017 in Bickford of Oswego. She was born April 14, 1924, delivered by her grandmother, Nettie Michael at the family home in Iuka, IL, the daughter of James Jesse and Mary Frances Dalton Michael. She married Stanton L. Schumaker on February 14, 1945 in Plano, IL. Margie loved to bake, camp, travel, fishing, especially loved being with family and grandkids.
She is survived by six children: Sharon Schiltz of Yorkville, IL, James Schumaker of Plano, IL, David Schumaker of Morristown, TN, Lonnie Schumaker of Morristown, TN, Karen Buck Nesson of Plano, IL, and Ronald Schumaker of Sandwich, IL; fourteen grandchildren: Doug Kathy Weeks of Sandwich, IL, Eric Weeks of Upland, CA, Jeff Melanie Schiltz of Somonauk, IL, Melissa Schumaker of Plano, IL, Jamie John Burscheid of Sandwich, IL, Matthew Stephanie Schumaker of Morristown, TN, Nicholas Megan Nesson of Morristown, TN, Dusty Karlie Nesson of Plano, IL, Abby Waldy Alvarez of Plano, IL, Julie Brandon VanDover of Big Lake, MN, Erika Stoker of Sugar Grove, IL, Stephanie Alex Sheppard of Green Bay, WI, Lyndsey Stephen Towne of Manteno, IL, and Wesley Shannon Schumaker of Dwight, IL; Twenty-nine great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter; two sisters-in-law: Donna Nelson of Plano, IL and Barbara Rogers of Plano, IL; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years Stanton, her parents Jesse and Mary Michael, one sister Alice Michael, one brother Carl Michael, two brothers in infancy, one daughter-in-law Martha Schumaker, and one granddaughter Krista Schumaker.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2017 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Plano, IL, with Pastor Del Keilman officiating. Burial will follow in Little Rock Township Cemetery in Plano, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 1, 2017 in the funeral home until the services at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Alzheimer’s or Diabetes Foundation.
