Margie S. Butler, 96, of Somonauk passed away Monday, December 26, 2016 at Symphony at the Tillers 34 in Oswego. She was born February 29, 1920 in Akron, OH, the daughter of John and Velda Eaton Barrett. She married Cpt. Edward C. Saxe on December 8, 1942 in Riverside, IL and later married Marten C. Butler on December 28, 1957 in Riverside, IL. Margie worked at Baker’s Feed & Grain in Leland, IL for 27 years. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years in Somonauk. Margie loved to grow vegetables in her garden. At every family gathering, everyone always looked forward to Aunt Marge’s deserts. Margie worked in the arts and crafts building at the Sandwich Fair for many years.
She is survived by two children, Edward S. Terri Butler of Des Moines, IA and Wendy S. James Gord of Sandwich, IL; one daughter-in-law, Elaine Butler of San Francisco, CA; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one son, Stephen S. Butler, three brothers, Richard, David and John “Jack” Barrett.
