Margaret Ruth Clever, 89, of Winter Haven, FL, went to be with her Lord on June 30, 2016. She was born to Clyde and Ruth Park in Waterman, IL on March 31, 1927. Margaret married George Clever on March 12, 1966 in Sandwich, IL. She was a 1945 graduate of Somonauk High School in Somonauk, IL, was employed at James Knights in Sandwich, IL, Farmers Insurance in Aurora, IL and J.C. Penney’s in Lakeland, FL. Margaret authored two books of personal memoirs. She was a member of Central Baptist Church, Winter Haven.
She is survived by three children: Wayne Charlotte Smith of Winter Haven, FL, John Sandy Smith of Somonauk, IL and Georgia Randy Avery of Petersburg, IL. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Michael Mindy Smith, Tyge Ashley Smith, Dana Aimee Smith, Julie Scott Horsch, Shawn Crystal Pyle Smith, Jodi Rick Leigh and Tiffany Don West; thirteen great grandchildren: Trey, Reeve, Caiden, Milam, Aidan, Teak, Emma, Lily, Violet, Brenden, Mackenzie, Avery and Owen; sister, Helen Vanicky; sister-in-law, Ruth Clever; life-long friends, Irene Klotz, Bonnie Thorton, and “bestest friend” Bonnie Haines.
Marg was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother Kenneth; and sister Lucille Wade.
Services will be September 25, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church
