Margaret B. Bagley, 86, of Sandwich, IL formerly of Columbus, GA passed away, July 4, 2011 at Willow Crest Nursing Pavilion in Sandwich. She was born July 28, 1924 in Wedowee, AL, the daughter of Odis and Susie (Shephard) East. She married Eli J. “Bud” Bagley in 1949 in Phoenix City, AL. She was a long time owner of the Opelika Road Flea Market and Antique Store in Phoenix City, AL. Every December for over 20 years she collected food, cakes and fruit baskets for the prisoners at Russell County jail in Phoenix City, AL, wanting everyone to have something for Christmas. She was a life long member of the Assembly of God Church.

She is survived by two sons, Larry S. Bagley of Jamestown, ND and Raymond (Nancy) Bagley of Plano, IL; two grandchildren, Suzanna Heidemann of Chicago, IL and Matthew (Stephanie) Bagley of North Aurora, IL; one great grandson, Bryce Bagley of North Aurora, IL; one sister, Pearl Schuerman of Smyrna, TN; two half sisters, Brenda Polling of LaGrange, GA and Sheila (Kenneth) Duffey of LaGrange, GA; one step sister, Ann
(Jack) Poor of Bowdon, GA and one step brother, Roger (Diane) Stevens of Villa Rica, GA and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brother, Elvin East and James East; four sisters, Sara Milner, Barbara East, and Evelyn East and one in infancy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., July 8, 2011 at Power of Praise Assembly of God Church 230 Highway 431 South, Phoenix City, AL 36867 with Rev. John Knighton officiating. Burial will be at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery in Fort Mitchell, AL. Memorials may be directed to Power of Praise Assembly of God Church or to a children’s charity of your choice.
