Lynette M. (Simmons) Jones, 52, of Latham, IL, formerly of Yorkville passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012 at her home after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 5, 1960 in Aurora the daughter of Roger and Norma (Lohrbach) Simmons. She married Robert E. Jones on October 2, 1992 in Yorkville, IL. She was a graduate of Yorkville High School, class of 1978. She was a diehard Cub fan, Illini fan, Bears fan, she enjoyed fishing with her husband, crafts and her greatest love was her family. Lynette was employed at Met Life in Aurora for 14 years and later worked at Wal-Mart in Decatur for 10 years and during her time of illness she worked at Centaur Building Services in Decatur.
She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Jones of Latham (formerly of Clinton); her mother Norma Simmons of Sandwich; two sisters: Debra Hanback of Sandwich and Lisa (Dan) Gudmunson of Somonauk; one brother: Gary (Kathy) Simmons of Hudsonville, MI.; eight special nieces and nephews: Ryan Hanback, Andrew Hanback, Lindsay (Simmons) Bohl, Mark Simmons, Michael Gudmunson, Jessica Gudmunson, Brenna and Autumn Jones and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, her brother-in-law: David Hanback and her mother-in-law: Connie (Jones) Malone.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Pastor Michelle Prentice-Leslie officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association.
