Lydia A. Venuso, 82, of Somonauk, IL, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Provena Mercy Medical Center in Aurora. She was born June 13, 1929 in the Philippines, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Celestino Ambida. She married Nicholas A. Venuso on October 4, 1958 in Chicago, IL. She was a former three time Beauty Queen in the Philippines and an accomplished oil painting artist.
She is survived by her husband Nicholas of Somonauk; three sons, Nicholas (Emeral) Venuso of Maysville, KY, Michael (Victoria) Venuso of Hickory Hills, IL, and Anthony P. (Ann) Venuso of Leland, IL; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Turner-Eighner Funeral Home in Somonauk with Pastor Bryan Bickford officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Sandwich, IL. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Plano Church of Christ on Lew St. in Plano.
